What Affects the Cost and Complexity of an EV Charger Installation
1. Charger Type & Features The brand you choose (Tesla, Wallbox, Zappi, Hypervolt, etc.) Charging speed (7.4kW, 11kW, 22kW) Smart features (Wi‑Fi, app control, load management) Solar integration or energy‑monitoring features Whether the charger needs a special RCD/RCBO (Type A or Type B)
2. Distance From Switchboard Longer cable runs cost more Complex routes (under house, through walls, ceiling cavities) increase labour Outdoor runs may require conduit or weatherproofing
